Taylor Elmore Spirit Award

Taylor Elmore is the son of Greg and Belinda Elmore who was tragically killed in a car accident in his senior year at West Florence High School.   Taylor was a team member of the West Florence High School Cross Country team and helped coach the Florence Track Club, along with his parents and brother, Brian.  He was all about encouraging others.    This award has been established to honor his memory, and the kinds of characteristics he stood for.  His spirit lives on, and this award honors the recipient who has shown these following 5 characteristics:

·      o  Punctuality and attendance for practices and team functions

o  Listens and respects not only coaches but all they come in contact with

o  Represents God, Family, City of Florence, and Florence Track Club with pride and honor

o  Always gives 100% whether in practice or meets

o  Is always encouraging to others

The award is voted on by the coaches, and is given out only once a year, at the end of the Track and Field season, to a member of the club.  The person who receives this award is given a trophy and has their name engraved on a plaque which is on display in the Recreation Center on Barnes Street.
