Weather Policy
Per the City of Florence, the following policy is in place for weather conditions:
Lightning: 30 minute delay for every strike
Heat:
1. Heat Index between 80- 90 degrees.
a. Athletes should receive water breaks of no less than five (5) minutes after every thirty (30) minutes of activity.
2. Heat Index between 90-103 degrees.
a. Athletes should receive a water break of no less than five (5) minutes after every twenty(20) minutes of activity. Athletes should be in shorts and t-shirts(football: practice with only helmet & shoulder pads, not full equipment)
3. Heat Index between 103-124 degrees.
a. Athletes should receive a water break of no less than five (5) minutes after every fifteen(15) minutes of activity. Athletes should be in shorts and t-shirts only.(football: no equipment is to be worn)
4. Heat Index 125 or higher.
a. Cancel or postpone all outdoor practices.
